Curriculum Vitae and Artifacts

This is my complete CV.

This is an article I wrote that was published in the April 2010 issue of Teacher Librarian, which is a school library trade publication.

Using Holocaust Literature to Develop Visual and Critical Literacies
This brief article was written for our school community newsletter, which is distributed to parents, community members, and teachers. It highlights some of the learning successes in my classroom this year.

Author Visit with Susan Campbell Bartoletti
This presentation is an electronic scrapbook used to book talk the author's books. At the end of my presentation, I also highlight a special exchange between her and one of my students.

I frequently request feedback from my students about my performance as a teacher. This report shows student feedback for our most recent grading period.

Alcatraz Field Learning Experience Proposal
After reading the novel Al Capone Does My Shirts, my students became fascinated with the idea of going to Alcatraz. I wrote a proposal and it was initially accepted, but due to budgetary constraints within the district, it never came to fruition.

Cross-Curricular Plan: Relationships
This curricular plan on relationships was the thematic focus of my classroom this year. Relationships are central to life; every student has experience with them. However, not every child knows how to appropriately develop and maintain good relationships, or abandon a relationship that is harmful or unhealthy. The purpose of this plan is to encourage students to examine the relationships in their lives through a more critical lens. All through exploration of intentionally selected texts, students have the opportunity to live through the successes and failures of strong characters’ relationships, while drawing upon personal experiences to inform future life decisions.
